Here’s a good one. If you check out Sweetsview.com you know we also have an e-mail at sweetscolumn@yahoo.com that I use to use for the paper, when I left I kept that e-mail for the Mrs to use in case. So I check it from time to time to make sure you can get a hold of her. Anyway, we got an e-mail in from Tory Flynn House Republican Media Director inviting us to the Indiana House Republicans 2011 Southwest Indiana Media Day. So me being me I gave Mrs. Flynn’s office a call and told them that I write for Sweetsview.com and not that paper anymore, just to make sure that we’re all on the same page and is the invite still open and it was. So we said we’ll be there plus thanking her for the invite but as we all know I’m more of an independent voter just to clear that up. It’s the best person for the job that gets my vote no matter! After letting this all sink in that’s right Sweetsview.com got invited to a big time Media Day. Wow!! After clearing everyone and getting them on the list Sweetsview.com and sweets column is now considered a real media outlet now even at the Indiana Statehouse even though we already knew it.  That it was just kind of strange to have been invited. At last, so see Winslow you now have an on-line news source that’s growing all the time. How many of you are aware of us? The Indiana Statehouse is! But you know that’s how it goes when you’re starting out. I’m wondering how long it will be before we blow super big time. After talking with the crew we got all lined out. So last Tuesday rolled around and Laura, Dan, me and the Mrs got ready for a three plus hour tour. Oh no, where have we heard that before? Up to Indiana Statehouse all the time wondering just how will we be treated up there? At last we got there the road trip was good with no problems. We finally found a place to park at a cost of $13.00 dollars. Ouch! After we all passed through the metal detectors with no issues we found where we were to be and no one at all was there. So we placed a call and it wasn’t but a second and we were on our way to the Media Gallery. We had a brief chat with Tory Flynn House Republican Media Director where she apologized for not being able to speak with the people she said we could speak to. But with the Democrats coming back to the Statehouse everything got changed around and the House went straight into session to take care of state business. Even with Sweetsview.com not fitting the standard “look” they did their best to make us feel welcome! So we watched the Indiana Statehouse in action, we shot a video to bring you along with. Hope you enjoy it. And get this stars, even though State Rep Mark Messmer was about to speak on the House floor he made time to talk with me and the Mrs and thanking us for coming up to Indianapolis and attending Media Day and he shot a quick video to say check out Sweetsview.com

Stop right here! Sweetsview.com and Sweets Column want to thank State Rep Mark Messmer and his press Secretary Heather Richey, Tory Flynn House Republican Media Director, Sara Jones Press Secretary, and Media Intern Casey Argawi. Sweetsview.com crew wants to say worry if we happy to make anyone nervous hope we get invited back again someday without so much chaos.  Well peeps my time is up but before I go Thank you Laura and Dan. Now here’s the Mrs.

March 09 2011

Yeah, Baby! It’s time to rock-n-roll out another sweetsview for you to take in. Last week’s weather was getting better, but spring isn’t here just yet.    It’s time we get backstage and after the last round of storms I’m glad we’re here, a little worse for wear, so Hello everyone! Stagehands are ready to take us to the stage but first we must turn on our spotlights. This week’s turn goes to all of those stars who helped clean up after the storms. Way to go!   Now that we’re up here on the stage it’s time to rock it. # 505 postcard in from
ImageShack, share photos, pictures, free image hosting, free video hosting, image hosting, video hosting, photo image hosting site, video hosting site

on the back of our Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive postcard read,” Dear Norm, I’m so bummed that you are longer featured in the Press Dispatch. I’ve been following you faithfully online, however. I thought you could use a new postcard from the West Coast. Hope you and the Mrs are doing well. Your Loyal Reader, Allen.”
Man you are right on that we sure could use a new postcard. Sorry to bum you out! But you know me, Norm has to be Norm otherwise I’m just another sell out and besides when the editor don’t want to print what you write all the time while making money off of you. I see it this way, why write for them when you got some awesome help from Dan and Laura which allows us to go to the internet and reach around the world and meet many new readers, stars, rockstars, and friends. Plus I can show you pictures of what I’m talking about without asking an editor. If you read the Sweetscolumn, get this Allen, they didn’t even print what Barb wrote about your postcard. What a “joke!” The Press Dispatch has the right to edit Barb but not Norm and we all know the paper is a dying form anyway!

So I want to thank you Allen for your postcard. If you got a postcard you want to share with us send it to Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598 and we will show it with our friends.
Man, early Monday morning February 28, 2011 Gibson, Pike, and Dubois Counties got hit by tornadoes. Oakland City got hit by and EF2 tornado, and Arthur and Dubois Counties got hit by tornados also. Below are some pictures of houses in Winslow, Arthur (Pike County) and Oakland City (Gibson County).
 Thankfully no one was killed.

Want my unofficial predication for the upcoming spring storm season?  One word…”Bad.” That’s just my gut feeling. If you read Sweetsview or Sweetscolumn I had a feeling it was going to be long and cold. Dang, right on that let’s hope I’m wrong on the storm predictions. So just in case I’m right get your storm plans ready. Need to know just what to do just hit the national weather service web site and find out and keep yourself safe!     How many of you have noticed? Just what am I talking about? Things are starting to turn green like the grass and other things, trees are budding. It’s only a few more weeks until spring but the question is, “is old man winter done?”     Before I climb off the stage two big things. 1st, yo my man Dan nice mustang. Don’t let your ponies get away. 2nd, Laura just got done with her midterms we wish her good luck and hoping that she didn’t burn up too many brain cells studying.     Alright Barb, AKA the Mrs the stage is all yours.
