“Rock and Roll” since we’re all backstage, although it was colder and
windy than we like at least we missed out on the Blizzard! “Heck Ya!”
We’ve got a little bit for you this week, with the stagehands pointing
and leading the way for us, it’s time we turn on the spotlights for
this week. Who gets to do it? Oh, how about all of you who took the
time out of your life to check out sweetsview.com. How about a high
five?! Don’t be shy reach up and turn on our spotlights. Way to rock
that!
While we’re on the stage now it does feel kind of cool, before we do
anything Dudes and Gals here is your warning, “Don’t forget your loved
one on St. Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14th.” It doesn’t have to be a big
ole thing that would be great. The main thing is, show you love the one
your with and even the simplest of things are good, just don’t forget!
Now you can’t blame us!
Here
is the other big thing for sweetsview 1,000 hits on our web site. First
to the awesome rockers who write and upload, and download type and get
the pictures you all are the best way beyond more than you may think!
To the rest of you who read and take in sweetsview we hope you keep
enjoying it plus help us spread the word about our up and coming web
site.
We
just can’t wait for warmer weather so we can have more stuff for you
and we are working on getting a new camera for the videos so we can
share more stuff with you. Want to sponsor sweetsview for a week? $20
will do it one week only e-mail us and let us know that’s for words
only, with a picture it is $25 a week. We sure could use the help!
E-mail us and we will work out the details.
Now
it’s time to shine the spotlights on onto our postcards, no change
there, we didn’t get any in so if you got one you would like to send to
us to share, sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598 will get it done.
Shine
that spotlight onto our stars. Hey got your Girl Scout Cookies? Hope
so, if not contact your local Girl Scout Troop and get your order in
today while there’s time!

Starting
Feb. 1st the Igloo in Winslow, IN has something new for you. How about
soup and hot sandwiches for you at lunch time? Now that’s the way to
knock off the winter chill. So from noon on, you got a chance to get
something “New” for lunch.
By now we know you heard that the Groundhog didn’t see his shadow that
means an early spring, let’s hope so it’s hard to trust those things.
Did you know Feb. 3rd is the Chinese New Year? We know! We could not tell you but that’s not you know.
Wow
this is too wild. Lincoln Poehlein and Alyse Carr are tying the knot so
ring that wedding bell for them we should be there to see that one and
cheer them on. Yo Lincoln good luck man.
Before I leave the stage I want to say this without too much detail.
All I’m going to say is hang in there and good luck Tom! As you often
told me “It will be alright.”
As you may know I listen to a wide range of music. Vernon Arnold had me
listen to something I never heard before. Here’s how to check it out.
Go onto YouTube and type in 12 girl band, it’s something different with
different instruments.

Just how nice was last Wednesday? It sure gave us a quick shot of spring that was more than overdue!
We’ve got a lot for you this week, so why don’t we jump into our backstage area and get ready to charge the stage. But first, we are glad you stopped by to check out sweetsview. While were here, we hope you all have not forgot to spread the word about us and now the “Drum roll please?” over 1,000 hits was done old school way by word of mouth and sharing it with our friends. First, way to go “rockers” and keep passing it on, for it’s up to all of us to turn this into a “monster” in a good way! Here is something I noticed it seems only the “hip” have found us, rock on!
What? Holy cow! The stagehands are here to take us to the stage, but first it’s time to kick on our spotlights. This week’s turn goes to all the web surfers who found us! Well alright, great job! So let’s take the stage.
With all the spotlights shining on us we got something proudly to say. You know under this sweetsview listing we’re #1 under Yahoo, and Bing search engine. We can now add Google search engine to the list. So that means our sweetsview is number 1 listing on all three search engines. Rock on Dan you are the man! That’s something we should be happy about! Not bad for our little crazy web site! It’s been a freaking long time since I said this. Alright!
Put those spotlights onto our postcard
This is only the 3rd postcard for sweetsview. On the back of this postcard read: “Norm, we went to Coca Beach, Florida on Jan. 27th to celebrate Mark Craven’s 50th Birthday with a surprise party! We also rode on an airboat & saw some real alligators. Came home to 2” of ice on our car in Indy.” Chet and Kim McCandless, Mark and Vicki Cravens, Joey Tepe and Shante Gish.
Thank you most kindly for sharing your postcard with our fans and it sounds like you all had a blast and a ride on an airboat way cool. But we were wondering “how sun burnt did you get? And thanks again.
So send your postcards old school way to Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598 and we will share it with our fans.
Now it is time to shine our spotlights onto our little hometown St. Louis! We have learned that Winslow, IN is working on getting a zoning board for the Town of Winslow. This could be a good thing or a bad thing only time will tell about that. I didn’t know we were in need of one! Just kidding, but oh boy here we go. There’s the new from Winslow, time to move on.
Now in past sweetsview I told you about the Trading Post restaurant it’s some of the best home cooked meals one could get locally. In case you forgot it’s located just south of Winslow on Hwy 61. So for breakfast or lunch check them out you won’t be disappointed.
Also I told you about the Igloo restaurant, pizza and ice cream shop located on the main drag in Winslow, IN. they are open usually from 4-9pm but during school session they are open lunch hours with hot sandwiches and soups.

Last Wednesday Vernon Arnold stopped by and treated me and the mrs to a meal out at the Piper’s Pizza House where they serve pizza, spaghetti, sandwiches, along with soft drinks to beer of many type. At Piper’s Pizza House you can even dine alfresco if you choose and as nice as it was last week we did. The atmosphere both inside and outside of Piper’s seems to feel like it’s about ready to rock in a real good way. So if you find yourself cruising along Hwy 57 just outside of Oakland City and the hunger bug hits, keep an eye out for Piper’s Pizza House. It’s worth it and they will make you feel right at home!

Before I forgot I want to tell you a little tale, so stay with me. Barb, Kyana, and I went for a walk down to our local park here in Winslow where Kyana had a fun time at the park. When we were ready to leave we were walking and she noticed a can that was laying on the ground, so being the kid she is. Kyana gave it a swift kick and the game was on. Yes, kick the can was on and she had a blast with it and yes when we were done we did recycle the can. But here is the point, you don’t always need all the fancy stuff to have fun! How many times have we all overlooked this simple point? So thank you Kyana for the story! But before we went home we stopped by the Igloo and got an ice cream and did it hit the spot or what?

How about a couple of shout outs? The first one goes to Mr. Emmitt the CEO of Gibson General Hospital. Sir, yes sir, keep up the good fight and do not forget I’ve got your back and if you need a hand let me know. I will do what I can do. But you already know that!
The other shout out happens to be going to Cary Bailey who stopped by the Igloo to say Hi and how things are going. All in all they could be better but it will be alright. And it was also good to see Cary and good luck to him, more on that later.
Well readers, stars, and rockstars it’s now time for the mrs. see you when we see you.
Thanks Norm, birthdays or anniversaries in the week of Feb 23rd to March 3rd so don’t be shy and come on up onto the stage and take a bow. Billy Wildt on Feb 23rd will turn 30 years old; George Copeland on Feb 24th will turn 4 years old; Keshia Wilson on Feb 25th will turn 20 years old; Melissa Meyer on Feb 26th will turn 29 years old; Eric Meyer on Feb 26th will turn 41 years old; Gordon Hadlock on Feb 26th will turn 85 years old; Juanita Boehm on Feb 28th will turn 77 years old; Madison Warner on March 1st will turn 9 years old; Emily Carrico on March 2nd will turn 12 years old; Lane Michael Cummins on March 2nd will turn 4 years old; Richard Bailey on March 2nd will celebrate a birthday; Bradley Robert Segert on March 2nd will celebrate a birthday; Dave Walker on March 3rd will celebrate a birthday; Rachelle Childree on March 3rd will turn 21 years old; Steve and Becky Nelson on Feb 24th will celebrate 22 years of wedded bliss; Mike and Lena Truelove on Feb 25th will celebrate 1 year of wedded bliss; Edwin and Irene McDonald Jr. on Feb 28th will celebrate 58 years of wedded bliss.
